Bukidnon….
Have you been to Bukidnon? Bukidnon is one of the coldest regions in Central Mindanao. It is actually a plateau and it was made as a stopover point for travelers coming from Davao towards Cagayan de oro City, and vice versa. The road is quiet foggy when you would travel early in the morning from Davao, you can actually see the freshnesh or the greenesh of the trees alongside the road.
What made the Bukidnon famous of? Are you familiar with Del Monte Pineapple Philippines? Del Monte Pineapple Plantation is one of the largest plantations in the world, with an area of 90 sq. km. Located in Manolo Fortich, Libona, Impasug-ong and Sumilao Bukidnon. Pineapples was dominantly planted among the sources of income. It greatly help the province to provide more income.
Also located here is a clubhouse and famous world class 18-hole golf course. The course is situated within Del Monte’s pineapple plantation in the highlands of Bukidnon province. When you come from Manila it’s a 70 minutes plane ride going to Cagayan de Oro City and you need to take a private car for 40 minutes or even public transportation like bus but it will double the time before you will reach the course and of course the hussle that the public vehicle would cause. And when you get here, don’t forget to order their specialty the Del Monte Steak which thier famous too. After the whole day of playing golf why not visiting some coffee shop where you can also shop for Monk’s Blend coffee. As far as i know Bukidnon has a finest coffee in Central Mindanao. Most of the traveler who tasted their coffee can’t really resist but to have more cups of it. :-p

Hi!
I grew up in Del Monte pineapple plantation. I spent half of my life there. I’m really happy to read this article about my home. It reminds me of my childhood. I used to play hide and seek with my friends in the pineapple fields.
Although, I’m now based here in the US, my memories of Del Monte is still very fresh. There’s no place like Bukidnon.

Hi Buday and Evelyn,
It’s all true: this place is close to paradise. I was born on the Del Monte staff compound right after the WWII. I lived there for 18 years before moving to the US in 1966. Now it’s time to return and I will be moving back next year to Damilag nearby. Because the Bukidnon culture soaked into me and has me now, a son.
Thanks for your comments Buday and Evelyn,

Hi Steve,
Thank you very much for dropping by. It is indeed great to retire in Bukidnon. The place is quiet perfect for me. My Uncle and Aunt loves Bukidnon. They always bring their visitor to that place. What a wonderful thing to heard that you are planning to retire also in Bukidnon. May I be the first to welcome you back.
